Race for Life needs you!
CHESHIRE’S men and women are being urged to step forward and volunteer at this year’s Race for Life events.

Organisers are recruiting now for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life’s volunteer army –a squad of dedicated supporters who help make the 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events an outstanding success for everyone who takes part.

As the countdown starts to the weekend of events at Tatton Park, Cheshire on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23, organisers are calling on people from all walks of life to sign up as helpers at raceforlife.org

At the 5k and 10k events, volunteers are needed to manage the information marquee, cheer participants around the course and hand out well deserved medals at the finish line.

At the Race for Life Pretty Muddy events, volunteers will also play a crucial role encouraging and supporting participants of all ages as they tackle the scramble nets and inflatable hurdles, clamber over the climbing frame and hurtle themselves down the mud-splattered inflatable slide.

There’s also the opportunity to be a ‘Mud Mixer’ on the day, helping to get the consistency just right for participants to crawl, wade and splash about in.

Laura Cass, Cancer Research UK’s Cheshire Event Manager, said: “Volunteering at the Race for Life is fun, challenging and rewarding. It’s a great way to connect with the local community as people from all walks of life come together to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
