Benefit change means more help
Thu 5th November 2009 11.49AM
MORE people in Warrington with children may be entitled to help with their rent and council tax. Government changes to the benefit system mean that people who were not eligible for help before may be entitled to help from Monday, November 2. Adrian Webster, the council’s benefit manager said: “As from November this year, we will no longer have to take child benefit payments into account when working out how much housing and council tax benefit customers will receive. “This change means that hundreds more families in Warrington will qualify for benefit.”
If you are interested in making a claim for either benefit please contact Mike Andrews, the council’s benefit take up officer.
