Businesses win food awards

FIFTY local businesses were presented with The Warrington Food Award at a celebration event held at the Town Hall. The prestigious awards were presented to the winning organisations by the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington, Dr Brian Axcell and Dr Irina Axcell. The Food Award, which is awarded by the council’s Food Safety Team, recognises high standards in food safety and the inclusion of ‘healthy’ nutritional choices on menus. The award also takes into account the use and of Fair Trade products which help to support the delivery of sustainable livelihoods for farmers, workers and their communities.
