Now Chris has attended a Winners’ Reception at London’s National Theatre where all the winning entries will be showcased and exhibited throughout this month. In addition all entries are published in a full colour book of Best Entries. “To say that I’m over the moon is an understatement,” said Chris. “I am exceptionally happy that my work has been recognized sufficiently to be included amongst the work of many talented photographers. This has really given me a boost and will certainly help in my pursuit of a career in photography. With ‘Dark Skies Over Romiley Station’ it gave me the opportunity to lead the viewer into the picture by clever use of the train track.
On this particular occasion, the station was such a lonely place with no life around to see. The dark atmosphere and gloomy loneliness of the setting allowed me to capture a photograph that gives off a rather depressing feel. Of course, it is a general impression of the weather which British people go through on a daily basis, so hopefully, many will connect with this and understand the nature of my target message behind the image.” Chris is currently studying AS Photography at the College and has elected to continue his interest in landscapes, cities and urban areas for his project.
