BOLTON Community College has received the seal of approval from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for its Higher Education (HE) provision. The College had the Integrated Quality and Enhancement Review (IQER) in June, which was conducted by the QAA – the body responsible for inspecting the provision for all higher education establishments in the UK. The IQER visit was conducted by academics from the University of St Andrews, University of Bedfordshire, and University of Hull as well as QAA representatives who all gave Bolton Community College their full approval to continue to deliver HE provision.

The College passed all three sections of the QAA’s inspection, which assessed academic standards, quality of learning opportunity and the reliability of information available on HE provision. Kelvin Nash, director of Adult Learning and Higher Education at Bolton Community College, said: “The College has a proven track record of success for all its learners, and this formal recognition of the high quality of our Higher Education provision is fantastic news.

“We are committed to ensuring that students who study higher education courses at the College are given an equivalent if not a better standard of Higher Education here at Bolton Community College, and our success in the IQER highlights this.
