WORLD champion boxer Amir Khan proved a knockout when he opened the new Instore Dental practice at Sainsbury’s on Trinity Street in Bolton. Amir chatted to shoppers and colleagues as he cut the ribbon to officially open the new practice which is part of a new concept in dental surgeries. Instore Dental allows shoppers to call in to see a dentist or a hygienist often without an appointment. Patients can get the full range of dental services at the practices, such as teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, fillings and x-rays.

Instore Dental is now based at Sainsbury’s stores in Bolton, Denton, Heaton Park, and Sale and is open seven days a week with prices starting from £16 for a check up with a dentist and £30 for an appointment with a hygienist. The concept was launched late last year by celebrity cosmetic dentist, Dr Lance Knight, who runs Ultimate Smile Spa, in St Ann’s Square in Manchester city centre, and counts dozens of celebrities, including footballers, television presenters, and actors, amongst his clients. Amir Khan is one of Dr Knight’s clients. Dr. Knight said: “The concept is that people can get a check up or their teeth polished whilst they are doing their shopping.

Often, they don’t need an appointment; they can just turn up and usually be seen there and then. He added: “Many people have found it difficult over the last few years to find an NHS dentist to register with, but Instore Dental is a very affordable alternative and covers the full range of treatment including cosmetic dentistry.” Amir, who is the World WBA Light Welterweight champion, said: “Lance has done some work in the past on my teeth and it was a knock out. I am pleased to open this new practice in my home town of Bolton to help local people get access to dental care, including affordable cosmetic dentistry.
