Mon 25th January 2010 12.56PM

SHOPPERS are being encouraged to vote Bolton Market as the nation’s favourite in a competition. The National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) has launched their annual nationwide competition in an attempt to find Britain’s favourite market. These awards promote and celebrate the importance of local markets where high standards of service, products and good practice can be found.

Britain’s Favourite Market will be announced at an awards ceremony at the end of January. Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Environmental Services said: “The market that becomes the worthy winner of this award will receive great recognition both for their market and their town - and we want to give Bolton Market the praise it deserves, especially as it was crowned Tourism Retailer of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards earlier this year. “With the current economic climate, the market has become a popular place for shoppers who are looking for value for money and a large selection of good quality produce.

I’d urge the market’s loyal customers to vote for Bolton in this national competition.” Shoppers can register their vote online until Wednesday, January 20 by visiting www.nabma.com
